Hi Adrian, yeh mine has a bronze pilot bearing and it is completely untouched! So i have left it. Yeh need to find some hard work for her, have got a couple fields that need reseeding for grass, might stick the plough on her and put her to work.

Yeh cornwall and sulfolk are a fair stretch apart.

Thanks Marcus, Ive ended up ordering a complete starter motor. When I added up the cost of the parts it wasnt far off the cost of a new starter.

So abit of an update for you all, Just heard from the chap thats doing my head and crank and they should be ready for collection tonight fingers crossed.

I have got an inertia starter on my tractor. I can get the whole starter drive but that is £70. But its only the metal clutch plates that have broken which i have found for £15 for the set. but they are out of stock with the company i found.

Does anyone know where i can get a set of clutch plates for my Super Major Starter motor?? Ive found them on forge services but they are out of stock and not replying to emails or phone calls.

I read that too, about putting the piston in boiling water. But the gudgeon pin fits like a dream in the piston but it wont fit through the little end bush. thanks Dave. When you say wrist pin, Is that what i call the gudgeon pin?? Will set him this little task this evening. Hopefull being an Aircraft engineer for the royal navy he should know what hes doing........

Well they just wont fit, i think im going to have to give them to my dad to take to work and machine them out abit.

On another note just ordered new bearings for my injection pump drive from Simplybearings.co.uk for £10 inc P&P

Im just trying to reassemble my pistons and conrods, but the conrod bushes supplied in the rebuild kit apear to be to small a diameter for the gudgoen pin to fit through??

I was thinking of doing exactly what you suggested with the oil pressure gauge straight into the block.

Hopefully today should get all the pistons in.

Hi Keith, I was advised to use a genuine New Holland one. So I called up my local NH dealers and waited for the sharp intake of breath as they told me the price! But i was surprised to hear that is only around £5 - £10 more than the agriline one.
