Re: New plough - anybody know what it is? FR PM ?

Neat and sweet ploughing out there!!!! Looking at your pics, it looks like the ground is moist. Reminds me of the time (several months ago) when I tried to disc our field with our ford 5000 and our offset disc harrow, with the ground WET after it rained the night before. That is why I thin...

Re: Colour??

And this is what I ended up with for the grill color on my Selene/Power Major. I really like the look of it and it has to be pretty damn close to the original color. It’s sold under the Rust-Oleum brand, don’t know if you guys on the other side of the pond can get this brand but your supplier may b...

Re: Has anyone ever seen this on youtube?

What he's using in there is a Landini l55 hotbulb tractor (I do love italian tractors but I have never seen one of those in the flesh) and that landini l55 does 55 horsepower (a bit larger than the np super, I think). What the operator does is pretty clever, beacuse what I've found out is that he wo...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBDP-Zdg7M0

Looks like the operator really knew to do things like this because I have seen his tractor on numerous videos here on youtube and, he would always do that occasionally :D .

Re: Before After

Are you going to fit the weights? I always remember that almost all farmers around here wanted to put weights on their ford 5000s, those who don't have weights always wanted to buy a set but they cant due to its price being expensive at the moment(our ford 5000 only has a pair fitted). So I think yo...

That is great! I wish I could paint things up like that  And, as all of you might know, I'm envious again (for not having a fordson) What do you plan to do with it? plowing, or other things? Also, as I have seen in the last picture, looks like you need to tighten the bolts on the rear...

Brian & Robert, http://www.flickr.com/photos/98655547@N05/10838165786/ Here is a video (of course the same video I posted) of a fordson super major around here (it has a minimec pump so probably 62 or early 63). It's got a DAR valve from a 1000 series fitted on it. As you can see in the video, the D...

Re: Calling Ford5000Y

Dave, You omitted one word that must be placed in between the words "your" and "fordsons", and, that was, the word "dream" Contrary to your eyes, the fordson in the video isn't one of those legendary county hi-clearance major, it's, in fact an original spec fordson. It's fenders came from a deutz tr...

Re: Rear wheel weights

About the 600 and 10 series, that may be tricky for me because, the ONLY true 600 series tractor that I have seen here in our area, is my uncles ford 6600. There were other tractor branded as such but they just isn't one. One of our relatives has a "ford 6600", just on the decals and the grill becau...

Re: Rear wheel weights

No they don't need starter weights, just put them over! Downside is, no they wont fit on 2000 or 3000 or any tractor with those wheel centers, sadly that includes a Dexta  . Also it depends on what wheel centers was fitted to the tractor, like for instance, One of my uncles has got another 5000...

Those were ford thousand series weights, as far as I know. Our ford 5000 has a pair of those fitted. my grandfather's pretty much original ford force 4000 has two pairs of it. here's the one fitted to our tractor. http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y407/gabrieljuancarlos/b33a7d4d-9bd1-4998-b2cd-629...

Re: My not for export Major

You're lucky, then. Rear wheel weights were very hard to find for fordsons around here. But the weights weren't the type of weights that was fitted to your fordsons. Here it is a large round piece of cast iron with only 5 mounting holes. That means, if you want to fit, let's say, 3 weights each whee...

No, it's not a high clear conversion. And, I took that picture while on the way home from school. Yesterday I tried to take its picture again but sadly the tractor wasn't there. Probably the owner used it in the fields.(I have very nearly slipped its identification while I'm writing this paragraph :...

Nice pics, but it seems like you have just overdone it in the last pic... But, what's worse? accidentally hooking up a dead weight in a crane fixed to the hydraulic lift, or buying a roadless super major whose former owner broke both the rocker and the yoke.? That makes me think what the owner hooke...

Well, I know that the starter isn't original to the tractor but I do not know where it came from. It is because I have never seen a dexta

But, looking at your other pictures, it looks like your dad's major has rear wheel weights on it, once. Am I right?

Sounds geat! Makes me wonder how fast the whole sawmill operates with that engine in it. Well, sorry for not being "noisy" lately, it is because the ford 5000 broke down lately... The hydraulic pump gasket burst while the tractor is discing in one (and only one) of our "faraway field" (good thing th...
