drag link rubber dimensions
Hi, does anyone know the dimensions for the front rubber sealing of the drag link? Mine has a hole and needs replacement. I measured 22mm on the smaller end on the pin and about 28 on the outside, and 43mm on the outside of the bigger end, so I assume about 38mm inner diameter of the big end. And I ...

Hi,
I got my king pins from Agriline in 2013 and the result is described in
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3477
Short: They were not perfectly aligned to the steering arms.

like this:
I used colors of Sparex, if I remember correctly.
And according to Brian the whole Tractor is blue, as if it was bathed in color.

Re: 62 super major starter and injector rebuild
Hi, I bought a new starter for my 1963 Super Major a few years ago from Ebay and didn't notice that there is a difference in the number of teeth. The starter looks like the originan Lucas starter but without any numbers on. It was a direct replacement without any difficulties. The rotation speed is ...

Re: rear axle bearing play
Hi Kjetil, since my repair there were no negative effects or sounds regarding the play of the axle. Seems ok so far, but if there is any problem with too low play, the power of the tractor will go over it an you'll notice too late. I used this sealing and did no modifications. https://histoparts.com...

rear axle bearing play
Hi, I had to change a bearing in the brake shaft of my Super. As I had to get the big gear out for that I changed the outer wheel bearing and sealings and resealed the whole axle. One spot less for marking my territory :-) Question: How much play is needed for the axle? I marked all positions of nut...

Hi,
calibrating the temperature gauge to 100°C is simple: Put the sensor end in boiling water. I did it with mine and saw, that the 100 C is the start of the red section.

Hi,
I met Henk last(! ) year on Kings day in the Netherlands and county654 a few years ago, when I was on a business trip near his place.
Is anyone on the Isle of Man during Pre-TT?
Peter (actually in France where I got my Major)

Re: Vineyard Dexta
Hi Bob, I can mount my coupling in different positions, there are five holes, the mounting covers three. I can turn the part at 180° which is between tractor and coupling and get a few more inches. Actually I have a sprayer which uses pto to drive the transport and "mill". There is no problem to hav...

Hi Bob, a little progress, yes: http://predecke.auge.de/html/traktor.html and mind the links on top and bottom of the page. :-) I don't know what the previous owners did with the tractor. I think they pulled trees or something similar and therefore changed the direction of the wheels. If you have a ...

Hi Bob, the description of the paint and the tires reminds me on the condition of my super major when I found her in the pyrenees. No color on the south side, rests of color on the north. http://predecke.auge.de/html/traktor1.html How wide is the narrow Dexta? Newer wineyards must be wider than 2m f...

Super Major grille ribs
Hi, my Super Major came with only two of this "ribs" (correct word?) in the grille when I got her from France a few years ago. On christmas I gifted myself with a 3d printer and building the missing parts was a nice project for playing around CAD and the printer. This was before the operation: http:...

Hi,
I put a small peace of plastic (or wood? I don't remember) in the drive of the pump to fill the gap. Works now for nearly six years.

Re: Widen fordson super major
Hi Rick, did not try it yet, because the width was ok for me how they were fitted as I got the tractor and I never had the idea of mounting them the other way round. As you can see there is a ring welded in the rim, which is not genuine. I think one of the former owners had the need to fix a second ...

Hi,
I put a piece of wood (e.g. a match) together with the cable in the pump. Works since five years ... but depends on how round the hole is.

Hi, seems a special case in that country. In Germany every motorized vehicle has an insurance, and yes Henk, even my bike, because it's electrically powered and may reach 45km/h. :-) In this case (work on a farm), a normal running farm has an insurance for the whole "company" to cover such accidents...
