Brilliant, many thanks, I've done the half shaft bearings and seals and brakes on my Dexta so if principles are similar that's covered.
I will be having a second look shortly, my biggest problem is where to keep it, I shall have to let go my Howard Gem Totovator to make room!!

Power Major
As a Dexta owner, I've always wanted it's big brother Now that opportunity has arrived. I have available locally a 'good original' Power Major. My question is what do I need to specifically look and check for? All tin work, wings, bonnet, front nose are good. Injectors and fuel injector pump have re...

Re: Cleaning water passages in Dexta Cylinder Head
Ok, thanks, will try having a go myself. I was wondering about looking into some of these industrial companies that de-rust car bodies and also those carrying out plating processes, as both seem to have hot flushing acid systems for really getting into cracks and crannies. I have used Brick acid (us...

Cleaning water passages in Dexta Cylinder Head
Has anyone got any suggestions regarding how best to clean the various heavily corroded water passages in a Dexta cylinder head and probably the block as well?
Thanks, malcolmg

How to remove Hydraulic Lift Arms from splined shaft
I would like to remove the hydraulic lift arms from their splined shaft and renew the bushes which are well worn.
Does anyone have experience of how best to get them off.
I doubt mine would ever have been off since originally installed in 1959!
Thanks malcolmg

Dexta Engine Block Cracks what to look for
I have the opportunity to acquire a Dexta engine, from a "breaking a Fordson Dexta" with the object of refurbishing this engine and swapping it over with mine. I need to keep my little gal at work as long as possible, and therefore plan for minimum down time. Being aware of the weakness of these eng...

Re: Upgrading Dexta rear end
Brilliant, I had taken some pics this afternoon to send you, but you seem to have beaten me to it - exactly correct. Points noted about the DARV - I was initially looking at a double acting cylinder for the top link, to enable me to positively tip my transport box, but a wood splitter might well be ...

Re: Upgrading Dexta rear end
Brian many thanks for the info. I know my Dexta is '59, but have no info about the age of the 'rear end' I have acquired. Re: hydraulics there are some external differences, and I have no idea if that would indicate any internal hyd differences. Mine has a single raise/lower lever, attached to the v...

Upgrading Dexta rear end
I have a 1959 Dexta, and have just acquired the rear end -( back axle and transmission) from a later one. I want to swap over the necessary bits to give my old Dexta, the diff lock, hand brake assembly, and upgraded hydraulics with draft control. Just wondered if anyone can offer me any advice regar...
