Thanks for that information Brian, I don't think it was relevant in my case, the fuel tap filter on my tractor was well and truly gunked up. Having said that I must investigate my fuel cap and see if the air hole needs cleaning out.

Thanks for the confirmation that the filter on the fuel tap is glued on and not intended for removal. Just lifted the gear levers on the Fordson Dexta to see a very creamy oil mixture. So water must have found it's way in some way. If you're replacing the leaking hose, be no harm to put a couple of jubilee clips around the lower radiator hose where the belt meets the hose,should offer better protection than just relying on the correct placement of the hose.

It certainly is, this is a real bitsa tractor. I replaced the inner filter a few years ago. Luckily the motor factors looked up the number on the outside casing and had one in stock. I think it was off a Nissan van or pick up! Ah sure it does the job.
