Re: Super dexta back end

Kiwi, i may be able to help you out. Do you need the long spring inside the lift cover, or the short one? The long spring (the one that's attached to the huge spring outside) i have lying on my workbench, the short one will need to be removed first. Just let me know, i'll be happy to ship some parts...

Re: looking to buy a dexta

Hi Mathias, i would not pay more than some 300 euros for this Dexta then. If there is a serious problem with the engine, it could get really expensive to have it fixed. Plus the fenders and nosecone are expensive if you want to buy them new. If it doesn't work out, you will probably earn your money ...

Re: 58 Dexta - Belt rubbing lower radiator hose

Yes, that is right. Mine looks tight too. There is supposed to be a slight bend in the hose, towards the timing cover. That will keep the hose away from the belt. But i agree it is kind of tight in there. You might consider releasing the hoseclamp at the waterpump and twisting the hose sideways a li...

Re: Thrust washer on lift cross-shaft.

Gentlemen, i have good news and less good news. I found one thrust washer in two lift covers. I would love to help both of you but i only have one washer. The washer is nothing more than a washer. Nothing fancy. A flat steel washer with an outer diameter of 68.2 mm, an inner diameter of 51.2 mm and ...

Re: Thrust washer on lift cross-shaft.

Gentlemen i will check my projects.
I might have washers, but i am not 100 % sure.
This weekend i will open up my two spare rear ends, and check for washers.
If i have them, i will let you know.

Re: Dexta Upper Lift Arms

Yes i am sure. I needed a shifter fork so i called a retired mechanic, who repairs Dextas for a hobby. He did have a shifter fork for me, but it was still attached to a gearbox and rearend. He almost gave it to me for free. It has been in my garage ever since. If we want to keep our tractors running...

Re: Dexta Upper Lift Arms

And they're off. I read your request and as i have a spare rearend of a Dexta in my shed, i sprayed it with penetrating oil. Tonight the lift arms came free. Both weigh 6.3 kilograms, including the bolts and washers. I don't know yet what the shipping charges would be, but if you agree to pay for th...

Re: Stuck engine, stuck injectors

A couple of years ago my neighbour called me with the same problem, engine stuck.
It turned out he had so much sand in the cilinders that they could not finish their stroke.
I had to remove the cilinder head to clean it all out.
Then i explained the purpose of the oil in the air filter.

Re: Non Starter

Hello Dexydog, If the previous owner used easystart, there's a chance that the piston rings are broken. The compression test might show this. All the requirements seem to be there, injectors working, engine spins etc. I would check the airflow too. During the summer the engine should start without t...

Re: tipper lift

Hi Sky Blue, i don't know what you mean exactly, but the Dexta can lift about 625 kilograms, some 1250 pounds with the lift arms.
Of course with an extra tool, which may put the load further away from the rear axle, this max. weight becomes less.

Hope it helps.

Re: Dexta single clutch, tractor won't go into gear

Umm yes it is possible that the clutch will not release enough when the "bolts" or the release bearing are worn.
If your clutch seems free of oil, that's the first thing i would check.

Re: Dexta single clutch, tractor won't go into gear

Hi Pat, i see a lot of black stuff in your clutch-housing. And you state you will need to replace some seals. I suspect you have a sticking clutch-plate. I had one once, and took off the entire clutch, pressure plate and all. I put it in a big plastic bin and added a gallon of "cold-degreaser". Let ...

Re: Help wiring up new solenoid

Hi Winchester, I think this solenoid is grounded by the casing. So you don't need a ground wire to the "-" of the battery. To test this (this test is meant for a tractor that has a negative ground), bolt the solenoid to the tractor, but no wires yet. Connect the battery to the tractor as usual, but ...

Yorkshiredextaman, i may be able to help you. Last year i took a gearbox apart, for the shifterrails. I think i have the washer you need, i took a photo. I can send you the photo by email, for identification, if the washer is the right one, you can have it. Better to put it in your Dexta than let it...

Finished the neighbours Dexta today. He delivered it about a month ago with a sticky clutch. It's got a double clutch - live drive - and it had been leaking engine oil into the bellhousing. I've known this tractor for years, also knew the previous owner. About a year ago it came to me with so much sa...

Hello Winchester, Please check the rod that is connected between the clutch-pedal and the little lever that operates the clutch-release axle through the bellhousing. If that rod has a clevis with two holes, and it is the original one, then you have the live-drive version, which means you can disconnect...

Somewhere in the paperwork i think i read you can pull up to 6 tons, but please be careful,at some point you want to slow down too,and i don't know if the brakes are really up to this.

The lift capacity i think was specified as 1250 pounds.
In the 3-point hitch that is.

Yes,nice description Commander. This is why people keep warning eachother not to drop the balls. During reassembly the idea is to position the center nut,put in the lower race, then the balls, which are now loose on the lower race,so can easily roll down into oblivion, then the upper race, oilseal and m...

Landowner,to the question "is this making any sense?" i would have to say "not really". Did you manage to put the "top cover" in place? The part that's secured with 6 nuts? Indeed you will see the oil seal through the centre hole, but the bottom bit of the steering wheel will never touch that. This "...

Yep that's the most commonly used word for it. If i would go to a tractor dealer and ask for a solenoid i would probably just get empty stares, asking for a starter relay they will reply "here you go,anything else?" The word "solenoid" is more used in cars, for instance the stepper motor that regulat...
