Re: Water in air filter

Hi Brian

Oil in sump looks normal. Will check filler cap though.
Weather in Anglesey has been wet. Tractor is outside from Spring until October so may be due to rain.

Water in air filter

Hi I am getting what I presume is water in the air filter of my power major. I recently cleaned the filter after finding a mayonnaise oil. This was removed and cleaned out refilling to the correct level with engine oil. Within a couple of weeks the filter chamber was overflowing with "mayo" fluid. I...

Mine is not in good order. There seem to be two pressure version depending upon local situation. For the uk whic...

Bonnet badge clips

Has anyone a source and spec for the spring clips used to attach the bonnet side badges such as the power major badge. I an switching the badges when recycling an old bonnet and feel the existing ones will break as they are removed. I only need 6 or so but suspect fastenings suppliers will need a su...

Passenger Seats

Hi. I read with great interest the article in the latest journal showing a modified Major with a double seat. Has anyone else made a similar modification and can offer any advice, drawings etc. We use our Major primarily for boat launching and a passenger from the yard to the beach would be very use...

Power Major Badges

Hi Just bought some secondhand bonnet badges for my Power Major. They have polished up very well but I recall seeing some with the Fordson centre section filled in with paint. What is the correct colour if this is indeed authentic. Don't want to open the grille colour debate again !!!! Mine are silv...

Re: Power Major Dashboard

:D That's the one I was looking for. Many thanks much appreciated. I was also thinking of tapping the boss and using long screws or lengths of screwed rod with domed nuts but this seems much simpler.
Was in Wisconsin in February in Green Bay and Rhinelander really cold.

Power Major Dashboard

Hi I am looking to secure the dashboard on my 58 Major. The old screws have rusted badly and don't look original anyway and the clips which fit into the drillings are damaged or missing. Any suggestions on source of original spares or a quick fix. I am sure I have seen references to using 1/4" concr...

Toolbox location Power Major

Can anyone help me with the correct location of the "standard" toolbox on a 1958 Power Major? We have a tractor used for launching boats on Anglesey which is now almost complete but not being restored to show condition but needs to be tidy. There is a roll bar fitted from Studall or Bowman which is ...

Re: how do i road register my fordson new major

Life has now got much more complex. I finally registered my Power Major in the summer this year. A supporting letter from Pat was used along with photos of the serial numbers. However there is now yet another issue. The DVLA will not register a vehicle until they are happy it is not imported or VAT ...
