Re: Dexta not starting

Sounds like you haven't bled the fuel system properly. Do you have the manual outlining the procedure? From memory... Start at fuel tap, make sure its on. Loosen inlet as lift pump and make sure fuel in coming out. Tighten. Loosen at outlet, check fuel it coming out using manual pump if necessary. T...

Re: Dexta not starting

My Super Dexta doesn't have the primer, obviously removed sometime in its past. I've never had an issue starting it, but it doesn't get too cold here. Are you sure you've bled the fuel system properly? Are you getting any smoke out the exhaust whilst cranking? The primer squirts a bit of fuel up int...

Oil bath air filter

Is there a modern alternative to the mesh used in the oil bath filter? Mine as come to the end of its life. Can I repack it with something else? Or is there a way to put a modern disposable filter in there somehow, whilst keeping it looking original?

Cheers
Cam.

Re: Urgent - Fan Belt

Had a similar problem with mine, fan belt and lower radiator hose rubbing. Cut the hose and fitted small length of pipe that fittted inside the hose for that section, couple of clamps, and now no issues. Im just about to fit a new fan belt, so I'll see how mine goes size wise.

Re: Advice needed - Starting problem

Im no expert but the solenoid can get stuck closed for a number of reasons. Is the battery well charged and holding charge? Low voltage can cause the solenoid to get stuck like this with arcing and heating of the contacts. Possibly bad luck and you've got faulty solenoids. If you did some rewiring d...

Re: Brake linkage and Swinging drawbar question

Had a look today. There are 4 bolt that hold the 'boomerang' shaped brackets for the check chains to bolt onto. Im sure two of these leak oil when you remove them, not sure which but i thought it was the top two on either side. Again, not sure if this is normal but when tightened sufficiently they d...

Re: Brake linkage and Swinging drawbar question

Hmmm, ok. Going to have to go out and have a look now. Thought it was the check bolts but maybe it wasnt. There were definitely some bolts that did leak oil when i was changing stuff back there. I'll check on the weekend.

Re: Brake linkage and Swinging drawbar question

Are you talking about the bolts where the chains attach next to the PTO shaft? If so mine leak oil as well when you remove them (I think only two, cant remember its been a while). I dont know if its 'normal' though, but when they are tightened up they dont leak. https://s31.postimg.cc/3mk2fuqvv/dext...

Re: Lets see - Implements on your Dexta

Gee could hardly make out anything in that photo, someone had removed all the colour!!!! :P It's not what you would call heavy duty and as you say has quite a longer reach than others. Was thinking something like a grain or manure scoop? Fair bit of dairy in the local area. I'm sure I'll find some u...

Re: Lets see - Implements on your Dexta

Yes i see what you mean with the back end of the Fergie. I have plenty of replacement pins if it does happen to bend, so I'll have a go at lifting some stuff in the bucket and see how it goes. If it does happen to bend I'll rig something up. I've got a short top link somewhere as well which may work...

Re: Lets see - Implements on your Dexta

Yes a photo of the Fergie setup would be good. Not sure the bucket would actually hold too much in the way of weight, its not very large. What were these type of loaders supposed to be used for?

Re: Lets see - Implements on your Dexta

I think you maybe right about being meant for a Fergie. Picked it up for a clearance sale and I seem to remember there being a TE20 there as well.

I'll try getting rid of the top link and attatching the curved link directly if possible and let you know.

Cheers,
Cam.

Re: Lets see - Implements on your Dexta

Finally dragged the bucket into the shed and gave it a good clean up and paint. Still needs some work, not sure its complete as I dont quite know how I'd reach the lever for the bucket sitting on the back of the tractor. Not even sure if I've attached it correctly as it only gets about a foot off th...

Looking like a new machine. Good job. Good luck with the wiring. I found that the easiest part once I had the circuit diagrams. You guys are lucky over there with plenty of spares. Not an overly common tractor over here.

Dexta out working

Got the Super Dexta out for some work on the weekend. Nothing too hard, just slashing the grass on 6 acres. All went well until i was going down a steep decline and she decided to conk out. Fuel in the tank was low and obviously it was just enough on the decline to push the fuel to the front of the ...
