Different PTO covers?
Were all Major PTO covers the same, I have a E1A, Super and NP super and they all seem to take the same 3 bolt cover, but I have a cover in the shed with a pair of holes on each side. 99% sure it's a Major.
Thanks

Early Diesel Major parts
Due to the Fordson parts recycling policy put in place by my Uncle and Father, I have a number of cylinder heads, (offset) exhaust manifolds, steering boxes, hydraulic tops, belt pulleys (no guards), a live drive gearbox, back axle, drawbars and front wheels which could do with a new home. 4 and 8 s...

Re: ford 4d engine
the 4d sounds like an early major engine. Does the throttle linkage go through the engine block itself? How many studs on the cover plate of the injector pump? 4 or 8 Is injector pump vertical or leaning in towards the engine? How wide is the fan belt 1/2" or 3/4"? If there's a number on the casting...

Fantastic work there.
Am I the only one feeling a little guilty that I have three of these thrown in the back of my shed?

DYG 90 search in UK
I hate these desperate searches but..... I've been given a set of family farm documents from 1956, which includes insurance details of 2 tractors insured. One I have in 50% restored condition (1952 E1A) and the other reg no. DYG 90, is listed on the DVLA site as currently taxed and originally made i...

Re: And then there were two... My new Super Major
Hi neilarmo looks like the moderators and members on this forum have a better sense of humor, than some of the ones on yesterdays tractor forums  If you posted this on there somebody would of whined how offensive it was to women, and got it removed by now, and probably you banned from the for...

Re: And then there were two... My new Super Major
I just hope the other one doesn't get jealous! Why Tractors are Better than Women You can ride on a tractor any time of the month. Tractors don't have parents. You can share your tractor with friends. If your tractor makes too much noise, you can buy a muffler. If your tractor smokes, you c...

Re: very early E1A major rebuild
Thanks for the comments BearCreek and AdrianNP. I'm trying to get this one of the first majors and one of the last (my NP Super) in my shed side by side. Almost there. http://i1036.photobucket.com/albums/a444/52Fordson/fordsonploughing_zps3a9017fc.jpg This is the full pic of the tractor when 'new'. ...

Re: very early E1A major rebuild
Has anyone the dimensions for the wide fan belt, in my rebuild 'kit' that I bought a couple of years ago I got a wide belt but it is six inches too short, even with the dynamo pushed right against the block. I'm reluctant to order another 'vap / agriline /sparex etc' one, I'd rather have the measure...
