Re: 1964 Ford 4000 driving me nuts..
Your posting puzzled me, since the only 4000 I know is the 3 cylinder diesel World Series. It seems, however, that there was a US model 4000 ‘almost identical to the 801 and 901 series’. As such I can’t help in any detail. Does any part of the leak off pipe run under the rocker cover, where any lea...

Re: Haybob for Dexta
Now I use a Kuhn Haybob 360, which both rotors can turn anticlockwise so you can get some quite large rows for baling :yeah:  That looks like a versatile machine. Also has the advantages of a side delivery rake, by reversing the rotation of one of the rotors, and only needs 15hp according t...

Re: Haybob for Dexta
Does any one use a larger Haybob 300 on their Dexta for spreading/rowing up hay? I believe the recommended Haybob is the smaller 200, but that is too narrow for typical larger round balers. So the larger 300 would be more versatile. TIA Ben, I've been useing a normal (300) for years behind the Supe...

Re: ford 3000
Ben, I'll think its relative, if you have the choice between a 3000 & a 4000, unless you have a specific requirement for a 3000, most people will take the 4000. As for the 4600 and 4610, both of them should be an improvement over the 4000, but in saying that a 4000Y is one of the best.

Brian, the Ford 1000 is a Shibaura tractor from IHI Shibaura Machinery Corporation, painted blue and white instead of red, grey and white, Shibaura supplied tractors to Ford upto about 40 horsepower.Previously, I had a Shibaura SE 4040 Mk1, the SE 4000 /4040 Mk2 is the same as the 4 cylinder Ford 210...

Re: WANTED: Gas (petrol) Dexta Wiring Schematic or Diagram
Pjjms, that was the one we got from Tubal Cain, I've had a quick look but it has no wiring diagram. At the end of the day, the wiring should basically the same as the diesel, but with an extra wire from the ignition switch to the coil, and the coil to the distributor, and the coil/plug leads. :eyes:

Re: 4600 Changing Half shaft Oil Seal
Awemawson, another thing to consider with your leaking axle seal, is how is your exturnal hydraulics return is hooked up, does it use the fill plug? ie has the vent on the fill plug been removed?, so without the vent, the oil heats up and builds up pressure in the rear axle housing and vents out the...

Re: 4600 Changing Half shaft Oil Seal
Correct me if I'm wrong, but on a 4600 you will have to remove the axle housing, remove the plantary gear set to get to the half shaft, so it can be removed so you can replace the seal. Like Kiwi Kev did with his 5000 about 18 months ago

Another way is to remove the drain tap,and hook up the yard washdown hose in its place, with the bottem hose and thermostat removed to dislodge silt in the block.
