Newlands Plough

I have started overhauling our old two furrow Newlands plough and wondered if anyone knew what colour it would be originally painted . It is in quite good condition and was quite easy to free everything off and should be a good match for my Dexta

Nothing a bit of blood,sweat and tears won't sort. Oh and a bulging wallet of course. I just hope the inlet and exhaust manifolds haven't been open to the elements too long or an engine rebuild might be your first job.

Thanks scoobyjim for those pointers. I went and had another look and I am quite sure it is a NP super major. I managed to do a deal and buy this major along with two other major diesel's and A ford 4600 .The NP major has no linkage arms or top link bracket :cry: (i have been told i have more chance ...

Thanks Brian for that. The cylinder head does say FL on it and it does have an alloy tap under the seat the only thing is I think it only has a single stage clutch would the new performance major still be sold with a single clutch .Also what other clues would I be looking for to tell if she is a bit...

I also had been trying some ploughing with my dexta however in draft the the plough was rising up and down in the furrow as if the hydraulics were to sensitive is there anything I can do to improve it I remember reading somewhere about drilling between oilways in top cover anybody have any ideas

brian you could be lucky my friend bought a kubota from the scrappys with a sump full of water and when he stripped the engine he found a popped core plug on the cylinder head between the water jacket and oil gallery and sorted it for the price of a core plug and a cylinder head gasket
