Re: Diesel
Sounds sensible advice, the outlet for the tanker is as you would expect, at the bottom so the water would feed through first.

Diesel
Has anyone experience with what tolerance older tractors have for diesel that has absorbed water? In my work here we had a 1000 liter road tanker that sat for several months, when we used some it caused a Hilux vehicle to need workshop time to bleed clean fuel through. Some forums claim older tracto...

Re: Converting generator to alternator.
No problem at all! I am no great expert on electrics but what I got was a Lucas 18ACR that had been in an Austin Mini. I believe it was very common on British cars of that era. There are new replacements available for that model online - you could potentially get a used one or something with similar...

Re: Converting generator to alternator.
Here you go, hope it makes sense! https://i.postimg.cc/kBJ3Ltcy/alt13.jpg First image - you can see I had to pack both sides out to line up with the fan-belt pulley. Some adjustment to design would make this unneccesary https://i.postimg.cc/yWXCfTFd/alt14.jpg Second image - detail of bolts and packi...

Re: Converting generator to alternator.
I did the conversion some years ago, bought an ex-Mini car alternator and my retired engineer father in law made the bracket to my specs, pretty much I just held it where it needed to fit for the fan belt and measured to suit! I could remove it and have a measure up on the weekend if you like - I ju...

Re: Intercep
Very interesting! We have a variety of 3m to 2.4m row spacings - the newer blocks being the narrower and all grown on trellis. Pruning season now so we have hundreds of Ni-Vanuatu workers around the district, we have one crew of 10 presently but that will double in a fortnight and looking to be comp...

Re: Intercep
No Interceps that I know of here, we use the green tractor variety on the whole - largely a result of needing high hydraulic oil flow rates from 3 outlets to drive machinery - Quantum mist 3 row sprayers, Hydralada trimmers and Collard leaf pluckers to name a few. The Dexta gets to do the jobs aroun...

Re: Intercep
Very interesting, what grape variety is that and where are you ?
I'm working in the industry here in NZ but on an industrial scale without the care and craft level you are likely to have.
Do you make your own wine?

Currently working 12 hours shifts picking sauvignon Blanc grapes, only time for a quick Dexta about when I get a day off! Going to be spreading some fert shortly as we have had our first real rains since November.

Re: Ford 501 sickle bar mower
i believe you are correct, in the auction someone made a comment about it being a Ransomes.
At $700 NZD it is a bit pricey for me, I already have a red-brand one and it might be pushing my luck to buy this one as well!

Those fan blades look a bit interesting like they may have been altered to clear the leaning radiator!
