If the the the surfaces involved are true the liners not too "high" and the torquing sequence adherred to then the engine will be good and "tight" using just the gasket alone.In my experiance. Resurfacing is also a possibility although her in denmark that would cost as much or more than a new set. What about going to a breaker? there is a good chance you could find a set of cam+followers in ok condition ,save money and still get a sweet running engine. Alternativley you could just use the...

I think it would be a waste to use worn followers with a new camshaft,they will chew up the the new lobes

Thats a good question,I had a minimec which had its lockinging wire and seal intact (breafley) and if i remember correct the screw was showing 2-3 threads over the nut.Lets hope one of the heavyweights chip in on this one

Did a bit of ground levelling with the vac-major yesterday and now it starts instantly from cold WITHOUT the cold start butten.Perhaps the flunging-spring has come un-stuck ,a happy day it is

jc that is the max-fuel injection stop screw.(Fuel-Index screw) When the new tractor was delivered that screw was set so the pump would deliver just enough diesel to allow the new engine to make the promised horsepower at max torque-revs (about 1600). well the main thing is that she otherwise starts and runs fine with the "new" vacume-governor,now where will I find that "old-style" clattering injector-pump clutch for it to complete its rustic image
