Re: Oil pressure dropping within 15mins
Thanks everyone for taking the time, some possible solutions there. Pavel: No horrible noises, she sounds fine! Good idea I will check to see if the oil is reaching the rockers. Yes I will change filters and oil next and see what that does. Rick: 20w50! So would it be best to change my can of 10w30 ...

Oil pressure dropping within 15mins
Hi all, I’ve just fitted a new (and working) oil pressure gauge. My Fordson has never had a working one since I’ve had it. The gauge started climbing to around 15-20 then within 10 mins began to drop and within another 10mins was down to 0. Chatting to a couple of people, the least serious solution ...

Pullstop head scratcher!! Worn part Problems
Hi Everyone The pull stop on my major has come away from the arm that sits on the injector. It’s the little bit that tightens onto the cord by a small bolt. I am not entirely sure how this part connects to the arm, but it looks like there was a rivet or flange that held it in place. I have not been ...

Re: Fitting a new Ammeter to a Fordson 1957
Thank you Henk and Oehrick!! This has really helped. I shall get cracking with installing the ammeter then. With the voltage regulator, I believe it’s the original. Is it worth replacing to be safe rather than sorry? The rest of the wiring is only a few years old and the tractor is an excellent star...

Fitting a new Ammeter to a Fordson 1957
Hi, I am putting in all new gauges to my 1957 Major (none of them have worked since we got the tractor in the 90’s) The old amp gauge had a ring at the back which the wire ran through, but the new gauge has two connectors at the back. I am not sure how to connect this new gauge, I would presume not ...
