Hi.
I would also do the input and rope seals while you're in there as it could be oil on your clutch that's making it slip...

They look like mudguards from an Industrial Dexta or Ferguson to me..

Re: Compression test
Hi. It doesn't matter how much diesel you have getting in, with those compression figures you're never gonna get started! Whip off the head and check the valves and seats, if they're ok, it will be out with the pistons and liners I'm afraid... Bepco do the best engine kits, if you can find them.. Mark

Re: Wheel Wobble
I suspect SkyBlue has hit the nail on the head with the radius rod ball end.
The alternative to packing with a thin spacer is to file/grind a little off the back of the footpeg where it bolts onto the tractor, thereby slightly reducing the space for the ball of the radius rod.

Brian, To make this job easier, you really need a stick (arc) welder. If you run a bead of weld through the inside of the bush from one side to the other, let it cool, and then it should come out, with a little persuasion  Simply whacking it with the hammer will most likely result in a snapped...

Re: draft control lever stuck
I had this issue with mine, and I'm afraid it means you're going to have to remove the top cover again! In my case it was caused by seizure of the pin which the lever attaches to, to the operating lever inside the cover, the only solution was heat, dismantling lubricant and gentle tapping with a ham...

Re: Uneven run, low revs, white smoke
Chris, Over here in good old England we have something called bio-diesel, a percentage of which is added to normal diesel, and we have had several cases at work where this has solidified into small balls, and killed injector pumps on our fleet of forklifts. I have to say that it did cross my mind th...

Ben,
Why don't you take the top link off when you get to the field?
That way you have trailed in the field, and mounted for transport..
Best of both worlds

Re: Would these fit a dexta?
To be honest, without the facility to move the wheel dish in the center out as far as it would go (these look to be welded centers) I don't think they will, as they will foul the rear mudguards.

Re: Exhaust manifold studs
Hi. The manifold should be fitted with studs, washers and nuts. Studs are 5/16" x 24tpi each end and 1" 5/16 length Fitted with a flat washer and a brass 5/16" nut As for removal of the old ones,I would certainly take drills and easy out's as would think there is a fairly strong chance of snapping t...

Re: Starting to put her back together!
Hi. I'm not saying that you can't mix and match from one engine to another, but I would advise against it. Things like main bearing caps and con-rods are machined exactly to one engine, so swapping those is a no-no. If you have the engine in bits you need to carefully measure pistons, piston ring ga...

I'm looking for a Super Dexta engine, needs to be cheap and can be cracked.
Anyone got a spare one lying around?
Thanks, Mark

Re: !959 Dexta starting issues
Hi, The heater/primer system on the Dexta is quite a straight forward setup. The primer button takes fuel from the connection under the tank, when the primer button is squeezed it forces fuel through the pipe which leads to the intake manifold, at the side of the glow plug. It is normal for this pri...

Hi. I will try to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge.. Agriline engine overhaul kits seems to be OK, I have one in my Dexta, and after ten hours running it seems to be fine. With a Dexta, the liners in early engines are what is called a press fit, basically, they need controlled press...

Is everything rearward of the gearbox the same? I.E. trumpets, back end.
Thanks,
