Re: front end loader.
I put a Wagner off a 8N on my Dexta. Nice, but too heavy within itself. Sold it to a happy buyer. I now have a Great Bend # 666 to mount on one of my Super Dexta tractors. It is a center frame mount and removeable, leaving only the frame. Great Bend was bought out by Bush Hog. Look at the current Bu...

Re: Setting up Remote Hydraulics for Super Dexta
That's close to the way I have it set up on mine. BTW- finally bought one of those hydraulic top-links. Very handy with the boxblade and a few other implements. I have a 5 ton dump trailer, and it is quite handy to bring in a load and dump it. The only thing is my valve does not have detent like my ...

Re: Brake Drum Won't Come OFF
UPDATE: Finally got the left drum off. Yes, I had the adjuster backed all the way off, but the anchor pins were adjusted all the way in to make up for the very worn backing plate. I had the anchors loose, but they would not move. The drum is in excellent condtion. No way of knowing the history, but ...

Re: Ford 2000 4wd
Let me ask a few basic questions: 1. Is the hardware metric or SAE? The GMC axles were SAE and Schindler is metric. Maybe some of the other guys can post on Selene. I have the Schindler, and parts are available, but here in the US part guys try to apply SAE and no matches; go metric and bearings, se...

Re: Dexta driving slow
I had a pneumatic Dexta with a perfect engine, but lack 'uuuoomph' and top end power. Tried everything, but when I pulled the fuel tank valve from the tank the reason was obvious. Fuel flow. When I got my fuel flow right, my top end RPMs were back.

Re: Brake Drum Won't Come OFF
no let me be clear, I can turn the drums freely, the lip is so deep, I cannot get the shoes to drop out of it. The damage is not done due to sitting and rusting, it is from WEAR. I would expect the pads to be down to the rivets or gone. I expect to find drums worn beyond turning on the lathe. POST 1...

Re: Brake Drum Won't Come OFF
I will compare it to my other Dextas, AGAIN, this shaft was moving from center 3/8" - 7/16" I compared it to my other tractor in the shop (that I swapped rear ends) and it had very little movement, almost none as for drum removal... If all else fails, I will drill a hole in the backing plate, top an...

I thought about it. If that brake drum won't come off, then the axle shafts cannot be taken out of the backing plate.

Re: Brake Drum Won't Come OFF
OK, So if I replace one or more backing plates, I have to check or re-shim the axle shafts. Bottom line. Normally left axle is used for 0.004 - 0.012" (0.10-.030mm) end float measurement. Shim both sides equally 0.060" (1.5mm). Install a 3/8-16" UNC bolt with lock nut in the brake drum retainer scre...

Brake Drum Won't Come OFF
Gents, Dexta 59 that is becoming a 62... working on brakes now. My Left Brake DRUM, (1st one I started with) will not come off. BTW: I have done this job several times before on other tractors. Removed 2 drum retainer screws, backed off on adjuster, used air to blow out crud (very little), applied p...

UPDATE. Both tractors have transmision and rear ends assembled. The parts tractor is ready to pull out of the shop fully assembled. Taking my time with the Super Dexta conversion. Well,
I explained to my wife what I will have to do. Not knowing exactly what she would say, She surprised me:
"OK, but it will still be my tractor, right? I like your Super Dexta better too. Make mine better, and it's a deal.."

Re: Transmission output shaft
Case closed: I will swap out the entire rear end with differential lock. I have a 100% complete parts super dexta, and were it not for the tractor belonging to my wife, and she is sentimental, but actually likes the supers better, so when it is over, the only thing that will remain a 59 is the block...

Re: Transmission output shaft
Posted also on YTMAG, and guy there said the swap is doable. My Dexta parts book has a page with replacement shafts and it mentions driven gears. Re: Transmission output shaft
Looking at Steffan's site, swapping the hydraulic gears looks do-able. Not so sure about the main output shaft. What is the part number for the new connecter shaft coupler? The one for a super dexta 960E-4605 is not available from FHN. Is there a source? Second question: If I have a super dexta coup...

Transmission output shaft
My tractor is a 1959 Dexta with live PTO. When I pulled the transmission to replace it (excessive wear & Bearing failure), there is differences to the old and new transmission. The new replacement transmission is from a 1960 Dexta, with live PTO. First the output shaft is different. My coupler shaft...

Re: Setting up Remote Hydraulics for Super Dexta
On all my tractors with remotes, if I have pressure imbalance on the remote, the 3PH doesn't work. For example, reverse the lever and neutralize pressure and 3PH works again.

Re: charging light glows all the time
Unless that battery is OLD: Personally, I would start with a multi-meter. That way you will know when it factually starts charging. Second, I would recharge the battery to 12.5 volts, not fully charged, but almost. By slave cables or charger. If thats a difficult task to only charge to a certain poi...

Re: Dexta Parts
Here is the problem with these parts. No one sells them in bulk, and the cost is HIGH. $5.99 for the injector body crush washer, $17.99 for the cumbustion chamber washer, and $4.99 for the return line bleed nut sealing washer. Is there a link to the Agriline website? 1. Washer Injector (body to head...
