Re: Dexta sidelights - old and new

I have fitted brake lights to my dexta. used a small switch under the footplate connected to the brake shaft by a spring. gives not trouble and makes things alittle safer on main roads. only issue is that the brake lights are on when the handbrake is used. they get warm though because the lamps are ...

Re: Quality Wings

my replacement one have a slightly different curve to the original ones but they function the same and you cant tell unless they are side by side. plenty strong enough but had to lengthen the mounting slots to fit with the roll bar.

Re: Metal noise

could it be a sticky push rod causing one of the valves to come in to contact with the piston?
I guess you could check thatby removing the rocker cover and rocker shaft.

Snow plough

Winter is coming and I was thinking about building a snow plough to mount on the front of my dexta. The current plan is to use a section cut out of an old water tank to get a curved blade and mount to push snow to one side. i was wondering if the bell housing adaptor plate is a sutable place to moun...

Re: Dexta steering wheel

my original wheel has 2 metal spacers fitted on top of the dust cap to allow the wheel to sit correctly. without it there are too many threads for the top nut.

it sends oil to the loader or tipping trailer. or if you push it in it will send oil to the rear linkage.

I was in Manitoba about a month ago, kept find road closed signs everywhere. even highway 5 was washed out.
The size of the farm equipment out there is unreal compaired to the stuff here in derbyshire. hate to think how hard it is to move when it gets stuck.

Re: wheel pressure

have you double checked the wheel nuts? have the tyres you are using sat for a long time? they can form a flat section on one side that causes a bounce. I have found the cure is to carry an implement round with me. the extra weight seeems to dampen the bouncing.

I have used one of the second looms shown. for the lens holders i used the original metal part and found some cheap bulb/lens assemblies to rob the lenses out of. super glued the lenses into the original bulb holders. works very nicely. better fit and price than reproduction units.

Just rebuilt

I have just rebuilt my dexta's engine. seems to have solved the heavy breathing and hunting. i have still got to fit the radiator so havent had it running for long but seems to be running much better.

I wont say where it came from, but i sold it on and found it was a better fit for a 1000nd series. i have got bent arms till i come across anything better. still works fine and everyone asks why fordson designed them with a bend. :D

if you are just taking the drag link off then a sharp blow with a hammer will make it pop out. to remove the drop arm you will need a puller.
