Re: Snow plow 3point linkage

I use it in position control. its a heavy thing so wears out the rubber strip very fast. some wheels would save on rubber. the weight is brilliant for traction though as a dexta is very light on the back end without anything on the link arms. the blade is 6ft and about 20inch high. will shift almost...

Re: Pats latest problem

could you not do away with the joy stick by using micro switches round the gear lever of the rear tractor? would be really easy to drive then. but I guess you would want a way of disengaging if you only started one up. I like the digital read out. great idea.

Re: Dotty has Starter Problems

could you go down the route of getting one machined locally or try getting one profile cut?
or could you possibly fit an mf35 flywheel, clutch cover and ring gear? or is the starter going to be in the wrong place?

Re: Dotty has Starter Problems

the ring gear does look unhealthy. would it be possible to dress the worst of the damage of the ring gear and fit it the opposite way round? this would let you use the unworn non pressure flanks for a whilst you find a replacement.

Re: cannot get dexta 2 start!!

what Ah rating is the battery sounds like its down on power. have you tried a different battery or a jump start?
Have you tried a tow start to see if the engine is free to rotate?

Re: my grandas old dexta..

would be worth removing the rear of the fuel pump and check the diaphram and clean the housing. could help reduce the engine hunting.

Re: my grandas old dexta..

I would remove the air cleaner mushroom and have something ready to drop over the air intake just incase it takes off. lid off a glass jar works well. might save the engine over reving and prevent an expensive repair.

Re: using hydraulics for brakes

I have decided to set up a cable running between the 2 brakes and used a hydraulic brake cyclinder to push on the cable to pull both brakes on. should also balance the brakes.
any comments?

I have a set of quick release terminals on an MF35 but they have nearly dropped to bits in less than 6 months. would be better putting a proper isolation key in the earth lead.

The duel clutch in my dexta is stating to slip on the transmission plate. can these clutch units be effectivly repaired or have I got to shell out for a whole new clutch assembly?

looks similar to over-run brakes exept they used brake cables insted of fluid.
wonder how much troubole it would be to make an over-run coupling

the idea would be for an emergency brake. although is there a suitable way to tame the brakes if i use hydraulics? would it be possible to over power the brakes if i used one of these with a suitable linkage? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Trailer-Brake-Square-Axle-Kit-25mm-Hydraulic-/160960083411?pt=UK_...

Re: Help required getting Hydraulics’ working

if there was no valve would it not leak oil everywhere? if you remove the plate and crank the engine over with the stop pulled does oil come out of the ports in the hyd cover?
might be better to find a good secondhand one

Re: Help required getting Hydraulics’ working

it is right under the front of the seat. it is containd within a small cast plate bolted to the top of the hydraulic top cover. should have a knob to the right hand side as you sit on the tractor. push this in for the 3 point lift and pull out for the external hydraulics. you may find the knob is mi...

you could drill a hole at the edge then use that to get a pry bar behind the plate.
I am assuming you dont want to keep the plate!
