Hi I'm restoring a Power Major. On my fuel tank the soldered seams which seal the thread brackets to the tank were cracked. So I heated it with a blowtorch and removed the old soldering tin. Then I cleaned it with a wire brush and soldered it new with a flux filled soft solder. It worked really good...
