Re: New performance starting issues
If you have good cam followers which wont need replacing you can do this if you can get them pulled up away from the cam to hold them up, the worst thing is that you have to remove the tombstone to take the engine front plate off to allow the camshaft to be pulled out. I will let you know as soon as...

Major compression pressure
What pressure should be expected from a super major when compression tested? I am getting between 230 and 250 psi. I am testing it because my tractor is hard to start and when it does start it is misfiring and white smoking until it warms up, I have tried a different injection pump and different inj...

as well as changing the main gearbox input shaft etc if you have a hydraulic drive on the top and a pto on the bottom then they have different ratios for high and low top so would have to be changed

Re: New Performance Major Rev Counter
I always thought that there were two rev counters for the two different ratio back axles fitted to NP majors, a New Performance revcounter shouldnt have a different bar for raised pto as the new performance raised pto is a 1:1 ratio because they have proper 540

Re: Roadless and county crawler
Most of the Selene "sandwich" or transfer boxes that I have seen are about an inch thick, whereas the Roadless ones are about 5 or 6 inches thick so I would imagine that the internal parts wouldnt be interchangeable

Hi, I dont know of anywhere that does a repair kit and I am of the same opinion as you that some new parts are quite bad quality but from what I have heard that this one on ebay is a good copy and fits http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORDSON-E27N-FERGUSON-PERKINS-P4-P6-L4-Water-Pump-/120824199510?pt=UK_BO...

As far as I know there are only two worm and wheel ratios for F and N tractors http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp256/1944_Fordson_Matt/SlowFast.jpg The picture shows a slow and a fast worm, the easiest way to tell these apart is that the slow one (left) has less starts to the screw, three I think...

They then used this type of air cleaner with the inlet and outlets cast on and a different style of door on the bottom http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp256/1944_Fordson_Matt/air%20filters/P8310177.jpg Then the base was changed to have a screw in plug in around 1940/41 http://i417.photobucket.com...
