The model name Dexta?

Do the word Dexta have any other meaning than just a tractor model name. Like Major's a synonym for bigger, but Dexta??

I have used vege a fev years in a Diesel generator. Pros are that I get it for free and cons are carbon deposits in the engine.

the diff house is already sitting in the right side , but is made for reverse driving (like on loaders) The gears do not fit the other way in the housing. Re: roadless/selene axle diagram

The only way to do it is to simply put the whole axle upside down. That is what they have done on Fordson Majors. http://www.google.fi/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.o5m6.de%2FGMC%252520CCKW-352%252520Open%252520Front_small.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.o5m6.de%2Fgmc_cckw352.html&h=769&w=639&tbnid=...

Re: Fordson Industrial Engine serial Numbers

At my workplace, we have a sprinkler fire pump powered by a Ford 2725 that has an automatic start in a situation of both fire and blackout. It has less than 100h on the hourmeter.

Yes, a more organized information would be better to read. I am interested in all kind of information about the 590E engine and it´s history in Dagenham at that time.

Re: Pushrods

There is an ongoing discussion in the finnish fordson forum about why pushrods has been bent every now and then on Majors. Some blame the decomp to be the reason and other stuck valves. What are your opinion on the subject?

It would be kind of cool to have a 590E (turbo charged, even!) powered generator, but I'm with you, I could find better things to put that engine in. Yes it,s cool, here is mine.http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w315/grani-album/Nyttpannrum004-1.jpg If you have more engines they would last for sev...

Re: I found a hole!

Thanks for that Grani, it looks a similar hole arrangement, but this one seems to open onto the toothed circumference of the ring gear. Can't see any marks. It´s there alright, you just have to turn the flywheel around to see the timingmarks. In some cases there is only one mark and it can be hard ...

Re: I found a hole!

Yes there should be a cover on the hole with a screw holding it in the small hole. The hole is for showing the timingmarks on the flywheel. The first picture shows the cover when it´s closed and the next when it´s open . However the position of the cover on the picture is not the original. I had to ...

The unloadingvalve works better without the O-ring. I've removed it from my own Super Major years ago and it has worked perfectly ever since.
