Re: Fuel system problem

You have bleed screws on the top of the filter and on the injection pump that have to be bled, loosening the fuel lines will not allow you to bleed the system. Bet your problem is still air in the system. http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp155/Majorman/Tractors/48cfff11-d78a-45e2-ad39-d091778b60e...

Re: Fuel system problem

Everything that Bill says you need to check. Just checking language, by cranking do you mean the starter is turning the engine slowly? I go on other US boards and some people talk of engines not cranking when they mean engine not running. You also have a filter in the fuel tap, you have to loosen o...

Re: Fuel system problem

Do you have a good proper size battery? Are your battery connections clean and tight? Is your connection to ground (earth) clean an...

Re: Steering Gear Box

I found a used steering box and put it on. The seals on both sides are leaking. Should I take it back off and return it or try to replace the seals? I was trying to post the photos but don't know how for this site.

Re: Steering - Again

Ive taken all the shims out and still have the play. Thanks Ben, I've actually read that thread. I don't think I've got the skill to weld and machine the rocker arms. Maybe some second hand one if I can find them?? I tried the washer idea on the inside of the rocker arms just to test the theory. I ...

Re:

bnmccoy, I did not use a bungee cord as this would keep pressure on the fork constantly and increase wear on the fork. I took a coat hanger and bent it so that it would keep the lever back, but left just a small amount of extra length in the hanger so the fork would not be under continuous pressre....

Re: PTO problem

It is one of the simplest jobs on the tractor. You only have to undo the bolts and the lot comes out. You do need to get the tractor nose down to stop the oil coming out if you do not drain it. Regarding shaft length, lower the implement with the shaft connected but not assembled. Bring the wo halv...

It sounds like your Dexta has a blown head gasket. Is there a black oily-looking film on top of the water in the radiator?
No there is no oily film in radiator. Water does not bubble when I look in radiator while it is running.

I have Fordson Super Dexta, 3 cylinder diesel. The problem that I am having is that I can fill it with water and run it. It will start blowing water out of the little drain hole at top of radiator(near cap). The water is going somewhere. It is not any water in the oil or oil in the water to indicate...

PTO problem

I have a super dexta. My pto keeps jumping out of gear when in use. I tried to put a heavy spring on the lever to keep it from jumping out of gear but that didn't work. I was trying to use my bushhog when this is happening. Could someone please explain what I have to do to fix this problem? Is this ...
