getting the transmission coming out is one of the jobs on my shedule for the coming weeks. Wonder If I can first take of the back transmission and then the gearhouse. I don't have much room in my garage. I've got the rear wheels already off.

That's a bit corroded, if the welding doesn't work out go to someone who refurbishes big hydraulic cylinders you could probably get it metal sprayed cheaper with less chance of distortion, then they can turn it down to the bush sizes you have. Haven't got access to the parts drawings/list as its on...

is it the handbrake (T handle) or a gearbox handbrake?
the (T handle) works on by locking one of the brake pedals.

making progress in the workplace. the shaft is being welded, to get machined down like new. I also got the hydraulics crosshaft out. Do I need 4 bushings? The bushes arrived last week. Is a reamer needed or will they fit?
The tractor is back in the workshop to renew the axle shaft seals and the pedal cross shaft.
Need to find someone to repair the shaft, as it had better days.

Please excuse me if I am barking up the wrong tree here. I'm the proud owner of a Super Dexta so I'm treading on thin ice. Would the front wheel of the major not be the same as the Dextas, 600 x16, unless you have a wheelless/ 4x4 major? 2 types of wheel rims were used as far as i know 16" and 19"....

I did a compression test on my Ebro engine
Nr1 20bar
Nr2 20bar
Nr3 17.5bar
Nr4 17.5bar, with some oil it gets to 20bar
Must say the engine was cold, since i have my injectors out for cleaning and testing

Never did pay any attention to this, untill i saw this thread. So I checked mine and it's about 4cm toe out!
RWD cars should have the front wheels a little to toe in as far as i know.
As far as I can see you can change it each 5cm.

Looking at the play on my crosshaft, there is like 2mm play on it. There are brass bushes sold, but also steel ones. Which one to choose and why?

Check level of engine and gearbox oil.

there's a spring on the hydraulic filter (return side). Is yours still there?

Try breaking the bad bearing?

the shafts can be removed without removing the top. If you can have one side out, you can hammer the other one out using a long metal tube or something.
