thank you ian i did find a post from Brian using kerosene(not diesel bad for O rings) and oil mix (maybe paraffin will work as well) then driving round for around 3/4 of an hour then drain out and replace with new oil .(i am not taking the axle apart) if i can find the post i will re post it regards...

have you any tips on best way to clean the creamy gunk from rear axle before i put some new oil in, same for gear box.

thanks both i have nothing in the way of log books or tax disc or reg plate, all i have are the numbers (casting) on the tractor. not that i think i will use it on the road, it would have been nice to have the reg that was all. still having problems getting the oil seal for the clutch and pto leaver...

can any one tell me how i find or get the original reg/V5 for my dexta please

to do the inner do i have to remove the bearings as there is no play when i have it jacked up and crow bar under wheel and try to wobble it

asked AGline about the seal they did not know what one i needed, what is it called (clutch/pto leaver oil seal) cross shaft oil seal
any idea as they dont know ??!!!.

hand brake is free on shaft, it only comes on when you use the right brake peddle
i am thinking it has something to do with cross shaft and bushes or the linkage from cross shaft to the hand brake

got on from old20 tractor parts £20 inc delivery UK,
2 types one with woodruff key and slight crank (later) and one with hole and straight (early)
mine was the early one with the hole so i am making a key from a rod and bar so the hand throttle will grip and not slip round.

the hand brake is on the left with the pawl on the left side of handle and the ratchet attached to the wing
