hi Nick ,i was out with machine shop yesterday, but he hasnt got around to it yet , he said end of week or early next , ihave been on to an old diesel mech i know and and he said to try pulling the timming cover and check the key ways as this could upset timming also ,just something eles to check if...

ihad the same problem trying to get wheels off a dexta which had lay out in a hedge
for over 15 years in our irish weather, i eveuntaly just gat a hammer and chisel
and they came off, bucthered the nuts but the threads were ok ,new set nuts good as new

thanks ian , have you any idea on the gasket, it is a copper one and the manual says
coat both sides with a jointing compound but not which type :scratchhead: some say
not to coat them at all :eyes: :eyes: , so what do i go with :?:

hi iwill be refitting head next week just a couple of things before fitting i cleaned up the top of the pistons and the top of block, iput a smear of clean engine oil in the bores and the piston head and the block , to keep the the bits from rusting will i have to clean bores with white spirit befor...

hi tom lad head removed some black dry soot on top pistons valves look very gummy carbon soot, cylinders look ok to my un trained eye they are not crome shinny, but a grey colour, ii have now left the head into a machine shop to-day have not see anything that was stopping it to fire up , mybe gettin...

hi ihad something the same oil spots under bonnet after bottom end rebuild and a clean up of head, after changing to morris 30w it cleared up and was great for 5oohrs roughly , lately it started to sound differnt and started to puff outblack smoke on idle, drove into shed and checked all fuel timmin...

under seat /hyd/lift cover
right side on gearbox
also there will be a number on trans box near the difflock pedal
and on both back axels looking from back of tractor
all numbers are 3numbers.letters not the[ TS7000 ]numbers these are on all
dextas :D

thank you pghbill , ihave automoizer which was not in use and a made up resivor rigged up, which i never really needed to use, ihave now removed and compleaty sealed holes update to what ihave done. took out injectors a connected to pipes and turned over engine there is a great spray from all three ...

thanks for your input oldcharlie, yes iv got good flow when i pump lift pump from both the filter and injection pump , i have disconnected the injector pipes at injectors and they are squirting diesel intermittly as they should when turning over engine, this means the injection pump and lift pump ar...

i use a mc connel back actor on my sd i think it is 700kg , it lifts it and imove around in 1st /low very slowly, ihave a frame made which bolts to front axel, and ihave 3- 56lb weights hanging from this, hit a slope as ben says and she will lift the front, ido use the side brakes to help steer her ...

thanks for that ben , ihave now replaced fuel filters , cleaned air filter, and checked timming which is spot on , the injectors where bought ,new from peter strong about 4 years ago when i rebuilt engine, have roughly 5oohrs on tractor since not a lot she wont start now even with heat from a blow l...

been using the dexta a lot over the sunmmer, everything been good untill yesterday when i noticed that when at idle she was puffing out black smoke, when reved up t it cleared back to idle an black smoke again , also is harder to start and and when it does loads of black smoke, :scratchhead: any ide...

serial no can can be found on left hand side[ sitting on seat ]
the number is on edge of the gearbox houseing where it joins the engine
it will be coverered in paint an grime so it will take a good bit of scrubing
to uncover it, if its a 64 it should Start 09D -------

this really is a puzzler , when you took off the oil bath filter did you get the wire gauze
inside compleatly clean, some even boil it to get the oily gunk out of the wire mesh
this can restrict the revs big time, if this is all good then it must as you say something to
do with diafram ect

mybe with the diafram fixed it means something eles is not working propley,
have you cleaned out the air bath filter gauge and the little gauge filter on the pump
, also mybe fuel tank filter may be blocked, just thinking outside the box :scratchhead:

no the ford modern type seat, it is the type with the damper rod in the
back for suspension , it comes with a plate which screws onto tractor the seat then
slides into this, it can be adjusted foward or backwards to suit driver,
agriline do them as the ford 000s seris seat

if its the push button on the mech/ pump , this is not the primer tap , it works like a choke an allows extra fuel to pump , the fuel primer tap/pump when used correctly cause a fire in the manifold which is sucked into the cylinders helping the engine to start. sorry if im trying to teach granny to...

there is a post under heater plugs about it, or bensdexta may
come in on this and help you out
he has the info to repair them
