Thank you John

These grills represent the best of two worlds.
But the truth is that I am so lazy that the one new grill still has to be
painted. The question is which one that is. :?

This was removed from the ditch with a mowing bucket made by "de Herder'' . This is really a job for first gear and sometimes the engine revd down from 1800 to 800 only ...

It must be dirt or corrosion . My dexta missed that small detent plug With a running engine I pulled that valve spool and it came out right away flooding me with oil. Had to make screw to hold it in place. Suggest you to use lots of a good penetrating oil . After some time then proceed with turning ...

Does it happen in all gears or only one position.
Can you keep it in gear with your hand on the shift lever or is it still jumping out of gear in that case.
If that is the case bearings between respective gears and axles are worn.

the pivot pin is hollow , so make a weld in the inside at the place were it is stuck . Best with electric welder and rod 3.25 mm
The material of the pin tries to expand but it cannot so will crimp when it cools down.

Anybody ever thought about the voltage setting of the original Lucas voltage regulator. It is set at about 16.5 Volts. My fathers Dexta always had a battery with a wet surface and needed frequent topping up with destillated water. . We had the same with our Nuffield and our Claeys combine harvester ...

Check the vacuumpipe from inlet manifold to governor housing.
May be false connection .
Or it can be a leak in the governor diphragm

That is a very very nice photo album. I did a 59 Dexta as well but lost nearly all photo's due hard disk crash. Removing the lift arms took me about ten days . [quote="ddoan"]Thanks, PJJMS. I , and thinking about removing the Dexta's pistons to check for ring and bearing wear. Don't know how your engine was running, but think that if you pull the pistons , you have to hone the bores and fit new rings. Usually the top groove is worn. Fitted a chrome top pis...

Yes possible ,these studs are close to the cylinderwall. Did you run your reconned engine for an hour and retorqued head nuts after that time with the engine still hot? Its also recommended to loosen cylinderheadnuts slightly before retorqing. Did you coat the gasket with sealer? (Ford says that it ...
