Logging
I'm impressed with your winch set-up for snaking log's to a collection point and better yet, places that you could not access with the tractor. Is the winch pto or hydraulic? Could you post another video with close-ups of the winch and it's operation? In year's past, it was child labor that pulled t...

Dexta PTO
Question for Kevin; Are you sure that your Dexta has the LIVE POWER option? (two stage clutch) If not you will need a over-ride on the end of your PTO shaft to use a bush hog safely. Nothing worse that being pushed by the mower while you want to stop. Good Luck

Mechanical Backhoe
Oh My; brings back memories........ Did a little of that with a 22B Bucyrus-Erie crawler. Same idea only larger (the 22B that is) It could be rigged for a crane; a front shovel and a backhoe. Eight hours on that machine and there is no need for a membership to the gym. Hope you enjoy yourself on tha...

Yep, I've been drinking the stuff over 60 years. And I'm not over there but down here (NC USA) Our local bottling plant is in Concord NC USA and no longer use glass bottles, only non-returns and cans. It would be my pleasure to send one of our old glass bottles your way if you would like one for the...

Like your progress on the bus. Notice y'all have SunDrop all the way up there; I thought it was just a Southern Thang. Anyway our bottles look different from yours. We look forward to your completed pictures of the Bus and the Good Times to be had. Good Job

Plow
Howdy Naildriver; Plowing is a fine art that you will love. The ground must be moist, not dry nor wet. You must also adjust your plow on first setup on the leveling arm and also the top link. As you view your plowed furrow's behind you, you can readily see if you need to raise or lower the leveling ...

Plow
Howdy Naildriver; I would suggest that you purchase a late model ford two bottom plow either 2-14's or 2-16's. In your area where the soil is lighter the Dexta would pull 2-16's without a problem. I would not buy a early model plow as made for the "N" series because the replacement plow points will ...

rest-0-ride seat
the R-O-R seat was available in the USA on 600 and 800 series tractors going back to 1955. I have seen the seat on Golden Jubilee's and NAA's but I don't know if it was installed after the fact. My 640 Ford has the restoride seat and need's new rubber's. Last I checked they cost as much as a replace...

Water in Tires
Ooop's, my error. I think his tractor is a Dexta. Not sure if it's a standard or super.
btw, the rear tires on my Super Major (loader tractor) are loaded and a counter weight so that I can keep the rear end on the ground.

E1A Engine
Hello; The former owner told me that he bought the Major to be used as a Loader Tractor and that it had a busted head. He possibly had someone repair the engine by just replacing the head. To late to ask him as he passed away in April at age 91. I'll ask the fellow that did all his mechanic work to ...

Loaded Tires
IMHO, by all means fill your tires with a solution of water and antifreeze ***IF*** you are pulling heavy loads. If you are performing light duty work it would be best to just keep the proper air pressure in them. btw, they get kind of heavy once loaded with liquid and a pain to fix when you get a f...

E1A Engine
Hello; I've recently acquired a Super Major. The engine # is S418713 with a large FL under # 1 injector. I've known this tractor for 25 years and it's only function was a loader tractor (bush hog 4000 loader). After a little clean-up and tightening connections and a full battery charge; it cranks im...

Hey Gman, anything "Major" wrong with the block? I've a "Super" and it never hurts to have parts in reserve. I'm in NC and IF we cross paths I'd buy the block for dry storage if it is a good one. Do you have the rest of the engine? What town are you near? Best Regards; Brownsmule just outside of Rac...

Thanks for the info. Now to google a conversion table to convert to pounds. Went to the Old Time Thresher's Farm Park today and saw three (3) of the most beautiful restored Dexta's. Two Standard and one Super. Also there was one Major in original condition from years of use. I've just got to learn h...

RE: late model Fordson Major /// Helped my buddy today (91 y/o) to remove hay forks and install the bucket. Lubrication of Simms Injector pump
I understand that there are two different injector pumps for the Dexta tractors. I've read that one or maybe both require motor oil lubrication. Are they lubed by the engine oiling system or do they require individual service? I have a 1961 Dexta and I want to take proper care of all systems. Thanks...

Thank You Thank You Thank You Ordered a Pump and also a Pump Kit from Bare-co this morning (in stock btw) Pump was $29 USD and Kit was $12 USD plus shipping. Fuel Lift Pump Dexta
I need a repair kit or a rebuilt fuel lift pump for my 1961 Dexta. NAPA wants $75 for a pump not in stock; Ford/NewHolland wants $161 for a pump and $80 for a kit not in stock. Hopefully there is a better source for this with a more reasonable price; any suggestions??? btw, I'm in North Carolina USA...

Once you get it removed, purchase a new one OR round off the edges and weld a nut on top of the worn out plug. I welded a nut on top of an old plug for a car engine and it really makes the job easy.
