Vapouriser plate gasket

Post by Eric Schulz »

Just a bit of a curiosity.
This is a gasket to go behind the vapouriser plate of the manifold. It is branded GG (never heard of them) and Made in Australia.
As you can see, it is a copper and steel construction with a very thin layer of some other material.
It would have minimised air leaks, but would not have done a lot for vapourising, as the fuel could have bypassed the maze.
Was this gasket ever offered in other countries?

Vaporiser Plate Gasket

Eric,

Saw one of these gaskets a few years ago. It was also marked GG. A chap over Vectis/Quantong area had it, along with a lot of other interesting parts.

Eric,
The sealing by the gasket is achieved by the narrow inner edge. The remainder of the gasket provides a uniform thickness to clamp down onto. Initially the inner edge is thicker than the remainder of te gasket. Hope that is clearer than mud?
Cheers,

Gasket

Post by Matt 1944 N »

Hi,
I believe that this gasket is for the Gas Oil vapouriser which has the shape of the inside of the gasket cut out where the vapouriser plate would go on. I will try to find some pictures.
