oil change

hi new to forum just bought 1953 major changed oil had not been started for 12 years ,got it running but oil is squirting out of oil breather cheers paul

Don't sound good :( Probably going to need a rebuild, but at least you will have a good engine after :)

went to start the major today water on top of pistons drained water ,started it up for 2 minutes then oil came out of oil breather,no water in oil could it be just head gasket?

Aaaarrrhhhhh Matey. Welcome aboard! :D Yep...Could be.Start it up and see if you have air bubbles comming up in the coolant when it is running. Dandy Dave!

If you remove the dipstick, does it blow out of the dipstick hole?

oil does blow out the dip stick hole

Sounds like the bores are worn, allowing pressure to enter the sump and timing case.
