piston sleeve

Ok i just got my rebuld kit this morning. So now where am i suposed to measure the .002-.004 above the block? Is it from the inner ring which is already raised or the outer ring? Guess i need to order shims....

Ive looked and i cant find a definative answer on which surface. Reason o ask it the inner ring that it the tallest part is alot more then .004 more like.015 so i want to k ow if there is something wrong or not

Mark it's the outer edge of the sleeve, that should be 2 to 4 thou above the block.

Ref I & T 'shop' manual FO21, page 24. From your side of the Pond :D

It is paperback, same as the one I have, very concise and informative. Although they won't give any info on fuel injection pumps, telling you to take them to a specialist :)
