Clutch spring

Post by Ian »

This may sound like a stupid question ..
but where does the clutch spring attach to exactly ?
Pretty much everything rusted away around the clutch area, foot plate, footplate bracket totally rusted away. Spring long gone .. was just used without any clutch spring.

I got a new foot plate and bracket for it and spring. Just not sure how the spring is attached, perhaps I am missing something.

Could anyone photo it or something ? :)

The clutch pedal spring was attached to a small bracket that was welded to the underside of the foot rest, this is for a super major tho so I can't really guarantee it to be the same on your power major...

Can anyone take me a photo of this ?
It would be really helpful, thanks.

This is a pic of what the brake side looked like

the clutch side was worse if you can imagine that. Everything had basically gone except the pedal

2 clutch springs ? :o

Mine looks quite different to this setup. The foot pedal looks different. I have a bar that goes up veritcally, not horizontally like in this pic (where the spring is attached). Cant find the camera just right now. It's a power major, so live drive, if that makes any difference.

Ian,

I have the wrong spring so I use two to have the same power.

Power or new major makes no difference, but live drive could be a different setup.
