Major skid

Hi All

Have not posted on here recently but I have bought an old Chaseside 700 this week. The original engine number was 1535289, so thinking that is late 1959 and the Chaseside might be early 1960. The current engine has an S as a prefix so would that be a factory replacement? I have not investigated the casting numbers yet.
I have adjusted the brakes today, one had some hydraulic oil contamination. At least it will now stop on the flat. Starts an runs quite well although there is some back pressure in the rocker cover.
I did notice that it jumped out of low range when in 5th gear. Is this a regular problem with a well used box?
