Not unless you replace the flywheel and gearbox.

You really need a Super rather than an early Major. Why get rid of the dual clutch? It has so many more advantages than a single one.

Ah! I see now, it is something we have discussed on here in the past and there is no way I would put the power from a six through a live clutch either. We could burst them with a four cylinder!

This one was in Aus. The one I had did not go this far just a heap of bits in the bell housing.

great pics brian. just what i guessed!!
what do you suggest for 6 pot- i have a `61 super, and a `58 power,`56 and `53 majors?
engines are poor in 61 and 56 - 53 has no handbrake `58 power is good `n original.
i intend to use the 6 pot on the farm, light duties, and odd charity road runs.
any input would be great!
thanks, rich.

I think you made the right choice with the Super as the more modern hydraulics and dif lock is better with the 6 pot. 61 Super would be the same gearing as a Power so a standard Power Major gearbox would work. Fly wheel would also go straight on. You would also need a new thrust bearing and hub.

A good clutch would be the standard "heavy duty" plate which was thicker lining and had spacers between the pressure plate and fly wheel. The best one would be the 13" clutch with the outer greaser but it could be hard to find.
