I have strayed from the Dexta area to here where I don't know much, but since no one else has answered I will say that I assumed the later majors to be the same colour as Dexta, i.e. Empire Blue
and Howard (rotovator) orange.

I'm sure someone will correc me if I'm wrong.

regards

Ian

I'm looking for the right paint for the "grey" new performance super major.
I've done my front wheels, using some old paint from the inside of the grills, but I'm not really sure.
I would like to do the rear wheels and the new pair of mudguards.

For the blue parts I will use the standard Emire Blue: like this:

On the grey-wheeled tractors the colour is a Fordson Light Grey and the blue is New Performance Blue which is not Empire Blue, it is much lighter.

Brian,

Is it right that there is nowhere an aftermarket supplier with these paints specially for a NP?

thanks!

I did a test on my old mud guards with the agriline fordson grey
one picture in sunlight, the other when it was a little darker

Hi Mathias
Sorry to have to inform you, but the colour of your wheels and mudguards is wrong. So is the colour of mine!
After painting mine, some time later I dismantled my headlamps, rusted but original, and found the original 'grey' paint on the inside of the lamp housings. The paint hadn't seen the light of day since being applied so it was pristine.
I would not describe the colour I found as grey; I'd use the word 'putty'.
Best, Adrian.

Adrian,

I know, i ve only got primer on it.
Is it more like the spot where the sidelight was sitting? Can you post a picture of your lamp?

Thanks

Hi all ,Old 20 Parts have the correct paint you need .It is more of a cream rather than a grey or white as most people believe. Liam.

I haven't taken any photos of the lamps close up. This brochure shows the colour, but it's not really clear enough to be helpful.
The tractor in the video below looks pretty close to the colour I found.
Best, Adrian.

That looks about right Adrian ,another thing is that colour always looks whiter in photographs than it actually is.

Hello mathias,
When Super np's were painted in the factory Masons supplied the paint, but Masons is now part of Axzo Noble and the correct paint reference numbers are as follows;
Fordson Gray FLUK 7368
Blue FLUK 50046

I hope this is helpful to you all

Peter

Thanks Peter,

I did have contact with akzo nobel, and they told me the still know these numbers. the gray did date back till the 60's, the blue was dated on 2012. Will try to get a sample to compare with my tractor.

Hello Mathias,

I could upload you a photograph of a Super np which I have fully refurbished if you like and you would see that the colours are correct.
Kind regards & Happy Christmas
Peter
