Front nose cone issues

Finally managed to get on the forum after 3 years worth of failed attempts.

My old major is 90% in its working clothes but in its previous ownership it's suffered a minor front end shunt or some dodgy re- fitting of the nose cone
The panel gap between the nose cone and bonet at worst is almost an inch wide if not more. Ant the front radiator grills are very hard to remove, scraping at the top as they come out and you need to really manipulate the grill to get it out.

Is the nose cone simply a case of removing the 5 bolts in to the chassis to remove?
Does anyone think a few well placed hammer strikes might improve how it sits on the chassis?
Could the radiator be leaning forward and not allowing the nose cone to sit right?

Thanks in advance for any help
