Hi everyone!
So I was unscrewing the wingnut on the external pre cleaner of the Fordson and the end of the screw thread snapped off with the wingnut; well the good thing about it is that I now have access to the pre cleaner and it is quite dirty from 60 years of work. I must also point out that this is the Australian type pre cleaner with a circular type filter that sits under a cover on the bonnet. Now my question is, will a new UK style pre cleaner be suitable or should I go in search of getting another filter element for the old one?

I had the same style pre filter on mine but it had become rusted to the tube on the main air cleaner and had to be cut of as i couldn't remove the bonnet without taking the oil bath as well. English style will work fine unless you are in extremely dusty conditions (may have to change oil more often) and can be found on eBay.
