Bolt Locking Plates

Post by Kjetil »

Hi

On the flywheel, front engine plate and elsewhere, Ford used bolt locking plates or tab washers for locking the bolts.
The Repair Manual tells new bolt locking plates to be used.

What is common practise?
New or reuse?
Are New bolt locking plates available, and if yes, where?

Thanks for any help

Kjetil

In the UK Agriline appear to do the Dexta tabs but not the Major.

However, in the Netherlands is a company called Histoparts, they do the main bearing locking tabs and the flywheel locking tabs.

They are not difficult to make if your old ones are past use and you cannot find replacements, old desktop computer case steel is ideal for this sort of thing.
