injector leak

Hi all i have a leak at one of my injectors , it seems to be coming from the middle of the injector , it does not see to be affecting the running of the tractor but is leaving the engine covered in diesel , is there fix for this , ihave checked other posts but have not come across this if it has been dealt with before. There is a copper washer in the middle.

Replacement should sort the leak (they only cost 50p ish)

I am not 100% sure , but if i remember right , if you try to undo, or tighten, the nut on the injector without holding the inside with a screwdriver down the leak of hole , you can shear of the locating pin on the inside. This is after all how you adjust the preasure.
I know this is corect for a Major injector, How do i know this ? because i knackered one when i was an apprentice fitter,
Advise would be to take it to an injection shop.

To try and get the right washer around would be nigh impossible,im about 40miles from the nearest town which doent have an injecton shop belive it or not ,its as cheap to send over to england so it looks like it might be time for acompleat new set when im at it, ill google afew places here in ireland first to see how much they rip off compared to england , thanks for your replies. Southern County Tractors do an injector refurb service at a cost of £21 + Vodka And Tonic (get it whilst its still 17.5% )

This is for a new nozzle and pintle assembly, cleanup of the other items, setup and test.

Very highly recommended.

well i took the plunge and ordered aset of injectors from peter slater, hopefuly they should be here end next week all being well, he does them £88 +postage this is a stright buy no need for sending in old ones. this was better for me , will post how they are when arrive . Gerry

Hi I also have the same problem. There is a diesel leak from one of the injectors. It is more of a weep but it is slowly covering my enginer with diesel. I was told as someone else posted here it is just a matter of replacing a copper washer. Anything other than this fix and I'm snookered when it comes to injectors.

if you could get an old injetor an take it apart it will give you an idea
of the set up , you then could try to replace the washer which
would have to be done in a very clean enviorment
ect , the best option ifound after messing about
taking them apart ect was jus to get new set or new one what ever you need
because you probley will never content your self it has been done right with guess work ,
they arent really all that expensive for the work they do, regards sky blue

Take all 3 injectors to your local Diesel specialist and get them serviced. They should replace the washers as a matter of course and then will clean and re calibrate them.
We had all 3 done one needed a new nozzle for around £60. It's the injector pump service that costs the most.
