Changing Indicator Bulbs

Post by Greg Z »

I'm trying to change the generator and oil pressure bulbs, but after removing the silver dash plate I find that there is only enough slack in the wiring harness to extract the holders by about 3/4 inch. From what I can see of the holder, it's not obvious to me how to get the bulbs out. Can anyone shed some light on how the holders open up and if I need to get them out further to change the bulbs?

Thanks,
Greg Z

The bulb holder pulls out of the bottom of the light body. You should see an indent around the bottom which you can prise down with a little screw driver.

Thanks Brian,

That will help a lot. I was thinking that it was probably threaded together. Hopefully I can get a small screw driver in there. Are all Dextas that stingy with the wire for the indicators or is it just the petrol ones?
