Rear wheel diameter

Post by pjjms »

My Dexta has 24" rear wheels but I see the manual refers to 28" wheels. Were export (New Zealand) machines fitted with 24" as standard?

It's worth a search on here & the old site on wheels - there is a ton of info on wheels/tyres. May not answer your specific Q about export standard.

pjjms, I think you will find 28" rims with 10x28 4 ply on Dextas were standard. 24" rims with14.9-24 were optional, but its probably more common to find Super Dextas with the optional 24" rims than with 28" rims in New Zealand. Cheers TSG.

The Standard rear tyre is 11 x 28.

Optionally the following were possible :
10 x 28 , 12 x 28 and 13 x 24

The 13 needs 24 dia to keep enough clearance between mudguard and tyre when put at narrowest width (52")

My dexta has 32 Horse power, but a donkey behind the steering wheel.
