she will not lift when under an angle

Post by dexta61 »

When my tractor is level, she will lift the lifting arms and the load in it as well, but when the tracor is under angle, the front 8 inches higher than the back, she will say" lift this yourself, I am not doing it".
What is wrong here, or is it normal?

The fill plug is at the top of the diff casting to the right rear of the drivers seat, its pretty big so you cant miss it. If you have an auto pickup hitch is can be difficult to top up without making a mess (use a long funnel).

There is a level plug on the left side of the casting near the pto lever (as all oil plugs on the dexta it has a square head) remove this then top up the oil until it comes out of the hole then run the level plug back in. Best done when the tractor is level.

You may want to check the quality of existing oil before you put new stuff in as these housings are prone to condensation so some 'milkyness' is expected but thick gunk is not ideal

Check this thread for oil data:

The intake filter is towards the front of the housing. At an angle backwards the oil will run away from the filter so the pump will only pull air.
