Very Unusual Dexta

Post by hiking bear »

As readers of my recent posts will know im in the middle of building a cab for Dexta. An 83 year old man in our village has been helping me. He is a retired Agricultural engineer who once worked for the local Ford dealer. He was telling me about some Dextas that he had a hand in converting years ago to work in the Gypsum mines. Basically they had very small wheels on the back poss 16 inchs, the seat was mounted down on the right hand footplate and the steering wheel replaced with a tiller type thingy?? All the foot controls were moved to the right. Obviously they were used in some mining function. Wonder if anyone has herd of such a thing or has pictures.
1961 Dexta, 1957 FE35 and 1966 Eicher ES101 (of which im always looking for spares).
