Brian, if you like I can put a question on the auction to see if they will provide the serial number for your register?

Wish one of those puppies would come for sale in my neck of the woods, I'd bring her home and show the wife my new girl. Then after I could see her real clear I'd tell her what her name is, and then............. well..........I'd own a petrol Dexter.
She's not really that bad 8)
See ya

Reply from the seller is listed on the auction but is as follows.

"Sorry it has taken so long, 957E 7005, T3, D95. Hope that helps and these are the numbers you were hoping for"

Interesting to note this is another New Zealand petrol with a 957 prefix, which no doubt just confuses the serial number issue further. I have found another in the North Island and will se if I can get the number off that as well.

They have made the same mistake as everybody else. :D

Those numbers are the same on every Dexta and are the casting mould numbers.

The important ones are here,

and here

It does give us some clue though D9? would be April 9th but there is no such year as 5 and S would be 1951 so that does not work out.

Many thanks for trying. We may pick it up later with any luck.

Thanks Brian, I had not given the numbers cast on the other side a thought. Would be nice to see it go to an owner willing to restore.
