oil filter type

oil filter type

Hi all , to help with a dicussion does anyone know if the orignal oil filter on the dexta was a metal filter withe gause in it or was it always a paper one, thanks in advance. Gerry

Interesting question, it will be interesting to know the answer to.

Its difficult to beleave that a metal and gause filter would be able to effectively filter the oil to the level required to protect the bearing faces etc

Just checking the workshop manual it describes the oil filter as:

'The oil filter is a full-flow, replaceable element type'

And the photos tend to sudgest that it is a paper element type.

Filter is a paper => not re-usable.
