Hi in the middle of rebuilding my engine and have gone to fit a new oil pump to find the in and out ports are angled not like the new pump that comes out of the back.
I have been told you can't get the early pumps any more and mine is u/s.
Does anyone know where I can get later sucton and feed pipes from as this is the only way I can see to get around this problem.
I have tried to rebulid the old pump with the new gears but may back plate is scored badly and the new one has a o ring in.
Or can you still get the old oil pump.
I ran into this a few years back on my 1959. Went to the local hardware and found some off the shelf brass 90 degree fittings that took care of the problem. Just check to make sure any fittings clear the crankshaft.
Looks a good job but my oil pump is u/s and will have to replace with the new type. However the pipes must be BSP if you got them from the loacl hardwear shop?
Hope at last. Thanks for the pics, top job keep up the good work.
Hi there fella, time to stick my two-penny worth in, Have a look at Ben's link there, it tells you a lot, but you may struggle to get all the bits you want. You have the new pump, right so you need the pipes, i had the same issue and after a reply from Brian , i went to my nearest MF agent, Ok so what you ask the parts person for are the pipes to fit a Perkins 3.152 engine, (yes i know it aint a Perkins engine) but the parts will fit, If you mention QTP. that company do a kit for the engine, which also does away with the old gauze? filter , much better, all the nuts and olives will be there as well. Now i aint saying you can't get the parts elsewhere and probably cheaper, but i think my way is easier and the parts will fit first time. For what it's worth, Jim.
PS, to this is ,with the pipe that go's from the pump to the block, you can if (your very very carefull, not to damage or bend the pipe too much) remove the old olive and the female nut , and get a new olive and a new male nut, and it will work, you can get them from the MF dealer as well.
