glow plug testing
Could anyone please tell me if you connect a multimeter between the tip of a glow plug where the live comes in and the body of the plug where it screws into the manifold should there be continuity? Many thanks. Richard
Re: glow plug testing
Hi, Ive never tested mine (because it works), but yes there should be continuity across it, but not a dead short. Put your multimeter on ohms setting, you should have a certain amount of resistance, like every heating element should when working ok.
Are your symptoms a) glowplug not working or b) blowing fuses/melting wires?

Re: glow plug testing
Connected the glow plug today across a battery charger and it glows red after 40 seconds so I guess its ok. Thanks for the reply.

Hi.
It really should glow red a few seconds after you put 12v through it...
