kingpin (spindle) top seal

Hi All, a fairly trivial question. I just purchased a pair of spindle repair kits (Bare-co). The top seal as supplied is a felt ring, yet the 4 kingpins I have pulled apart have a flattish rubber. Original parts book pictures aren't clear enough to see what it might be. Suggestions or recommendations?

Coming into summer here (NZ). Yippee.

Could be "either" both should be OK. It is just a dust seal and you should grease the king pins until grease comes out around it to flush away dirt and grit.

Thanks.
Having 'fun' trying to get old bushes and thrust bearing remains out. Get the gas torch onto 'em????

The bushes are very thin. You can tap a screwdriver down behind it to destroy it and lever it out. I used Agrilline replacements which did not need reaming.
Good luck
