SIFRA SEAT ???

Post by Leswidden »

Hi Fordson junkies

Im new to this forum but can see its a wealth of information, I was wondering if any one could help, I've recently bought a 1964 Super Dexta that's going to need a bit of attention
( more than a lick of paint ) The tractor seems to be original but has a SIFRA SUSPENTION SEAT , Is this right ? and can I get a new one or new parts ?
Any help would be greatly welcomed

I doubt a Sifra seat was an original Dexta seat. A photo would help. Looking at the web, I get the impression that Sifra was a Ford '000 series seat.

I guess it depends whether you want your Dexta to be original or not!

Hi Les, the Sifra seat is for a Ford 4000.
The biggest mistake I have made is fitting a hydraulic seat to my super dexta. I have a cab and my head was almost banging on the roof, also it was only going to be a matter of time before I battered my head off the wiper motor.
The seat is a lot higher than the normal seat.
The other problem was , I could not fit the bracket for the tipper pipe and as I have fitted a flexi pipe, it was absolute murder trying to fit the trailer hose connection.
One hydraulic seat going cheap, or is it cheep as i feel a right turkey

Ahhhh thanks Brian

I thought it's was a bit peculiar , and I couldn't find a lot of info about it .
My little blue (brown) wonder hasn't got a cab so no problem hitting my noggin
.... That and the fact I'm a cornish fella, so not exactly lofty lol
