Temperature sender thread size

Post by agroman »

Hi
Got engine back from machine shop, so now building it up and hopefully refit to gearbox soon.

I need to tap out the threads where the temperature sender unit screws into the thermostat housing as someone had just put a blanking bolt in before, so the exposed threads at the bottom of the hole have corroded.

Does anyone know what size / type thread this is, so that I can get the correct tap. I am never very good at identifying threads / sizes!

Answered my own question!
It's a 5/8th UNF - same size as the bolts on the front axle (track adjustment)!
Just need to find a plug tap now.
