Hi all,
I'm ready to fit my new seal & bearings to front hubs. Which way round does the seal go? The manual (Front axle - section 2) doesn't show.
Front hub seal
Re: Front hub seal
They have the lip pointing inwards, to keep the grease in, Jim.
Re: Front hub seal
Sorry that is not correct, the lip goes to the outside to keep the dirt out not the grease in. You then grease the hub which pushes the grease past the seal taking all the dirt with it.

Thanks chaps. The forum is working perfectly.
Putting it on with lip to outside also should make it easier to push on (instead of having to find a piece of pipe with the diameter of the gap between inner and outer lips).
How far do I put it on - all the way or flush with the bearing? (or are they pretty much the same)
